The Reading Repair Cafes tend not to do bike repairs. That’s not because we don’t know how to repair bikes or don’t want to repair bikes. There are already two really good services for repairing bikes in Reading. Firstly the bike kitchen in Weldale Street and the bike hub in the centre of Reading.
Both of these are volunteer run and you can either take your bike along to work with the experts there to repair your bike or you can get them to do the repair. They also do bike sales where they refurbish old bikes and get them working again in tip-top condition so that you can buy them.
And lastly, they both do courses on repairing and maintaining your bike. At the Bike Hub, this is Wednesday evenings, and go to the ReadingBikeHub.org.uk events page. There’s a list of all of the sessions there, or the Bicycle Kitchen does these on a Sunday, and you can pop in and get a general maintenance and repair course on your bike.
