We had 2 interesting umbrellas to fix at the Repair Cafe this month. Pauline had a very nice umbrella that the fabric had come away from the stays. Diane managed to stitch the fabric so that the umbrella fabric streaked out to the ends of the stays.

I had a challenge with a large sun umbrella. The cord that winches the umbrella up had come away from the winch shaft. I managed to make a hook out of a spring and feed that down the tube to catch the cord and pull it through. Then it was relatively easy to thread this through to the base and thread the cord through the hole in the winch handle.
